Children's Worship
Children are a wonderful and important part of our assembly in worship. They are always welcome to remain with their parents in worship, but they also have the opportunity, after the gathering rite, to process to another space and take part in a children's Celebration of the Word.
There the children enjoy age-specfic worship activities. This is a different way of doing "Sunday School" called The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Please see the side link for an explanation of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and other related terms.
During the Greeting of Peace, the children return to the liturgical assembly as we "take, bless, break and share" the bread and the cup in the Holy Eucharist. The Eucharistic Table is open to all the baptized. Thus, from infancy, children at St. Aidan's are full participants in the Supper of the Risen Christ.
