Worship: Introduction
"Christian Liturgy is a living icon, one composed primarily of persons, not signs…" -- Robert Taft
Through his words and actions at the Table, Jesus invited people to encounter the grace of God and follow him as disciples. The table fellowship of Jesus was also a tangible revelation of the Reign of God. We believe that vital and faithful worship continues this saving pattern; it invites people to experience God's transforming power, forms them in the Christian life and establishes them as witnesses to the inclusive love of Jesus.
Liturgy is more than authorized texts and consecrated objects. Liturgy is about our relationships with God, the world, one another and the self. It both expresses and shapes our identity in Christ through the power of the Spirit. It is, in essence, the intersection between belief, spirituality and mission.
Therefore, corporate worship, particularly the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist, stands at the heart of our life as a congregation. At St. Aidan's we take care to recognize and celebrate God's goodness through worship that is joyful, inspiring, hospitable and reverent.
We invite you to join with us in sharing and celebrating the love of Jesus through the worship we offer to God at St. Aidan's Church!
